Swansea Central, Block B, is a significant office development in the heart of the city. Spanning 4,481m², the project is targeting a BREEAM Excellent rating under the BREEAM 2018 New Construction – Office, Shell & Core scheme, with a target score of 79.42%. RedSix acted as the BREEAM Assessor and Advisory Professional (AP), ensuring that the project’s ambitious sustainability vision was integrated from the earliest stages of design and delivery.

The key challenge was to coordinate and collate BREEAM evidence to align with an accelerated planning timeline. With tight deadlines at RIBA Stage 3 and evolving project demands, achieving compliance while maximising sustainability performance required a highly coordinated and proactive approach.
Leveraging our BREEAM expertise, we provided comprehensive AP services and conducted Mat 01 Lifecycle Assessments up to RIBA Stage 3, embedding sustainable principles into the core of the building’s design. Close collaboration with the project team ensured that evidence requirements were met in a timely manner, aligning with critical planning deadlines. Our hands-on approach meant that the project team could focus on delivery, confident that sustainability compliance was fully integrated and on track for an Excellent rating. This early engagement has not only supported planning permission but also laid the foundation for a high-performing and resilient office building that meets both current and future sustainability standards
